Annual Report 2007-2008

report | 2008
Villa Rosa provides a safe and healthy place to
live for pregnant women who are in need of a
place to stay and continue their education
while planning for the birth of their baby.
Opportunities to learn and grow are available,
as well as offering hope for the future from
the wide range of support available from staff,
volunteers and other residents going through
similar experiences.
We are grateful for the solid financial support from the Province of Manitoba, United Way and our two-year grant from the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs. We are thankful for the support of an anonymous donor who helped us replace our old boiler this year, which will help us save on heating bills in the future. Thank you also to our staff and volunteers for their endless dedication and hard work.
The annual investment return is used to support Villa Rosa residents to stay in school and to provide post secondary scholarships. This past year, Villa Rosa awarded three Independence Through Education Awards. Our graduates are pursuing careers in law enforcement, opening a business, and becoming a medical technician. We wish them all great success in their endeavours.
Thank you to the community of Winnipeg for your continued support and gifts of your time, money, and practical donations of furniture, clothing and household items over the last year. Our moms and babies enjoy and appreciate your generosity.
