May 7, 2009 marked the 2nd Annual Villa Rosa Celebration of Motherhood Dinner at the Clarion Hotel. A crowd of over 200 guests enjoyed a scrumptious prime rib dinner accompanied by live jazz music and a Silent Auction with numerous great prizes.

Lindor Reynolds hosted this fun-filled evening which raised over $51,000. Funds raised from this event support young single mothers to stay in school and receive scholarships for post secondary education. See pictures of the event here.

Villa Rosa has been providing services in Winnipeg to young single pregnant women for 111 years. Villa Rosa and our Title Sponsor, the Paletta Family would like you to join us for a very special evening at the Clarion Hotel. The first Celebration of Motherhood Dinner last year was a huge success. Tickets sold out several weeks before the dinner, everyone had a great time and over $40,000 was raised. This year we are giving you the opportunity to purchase tickets early so you don’t miss out on what promises to be another great event.

Lindor Reynolds, Columnist for The Winnipeg Free Press, will host the evening.
There will be fantastic prizes for you to win at the silent auction.

Tickets are $150 per person and a tax receipt for $95 will be issued for each ticket.

The proceeds from this event will go to both Villa Rosa and to our Endowment Fund in order to support the young women to graduate and to provide scholarships for post secondary education. Author Beatrice Culleton Mosionier visited Villa Rosa in January 2009 and spoke to residents and staff to celebrate the donation of a number of copies of Mosionier’s 1983 novel, In Search of April Raintree, by her publisher, Portage & Main Press. At that time, Mosioner shared that she, too, had been a Villa Rosa resident at one time, and through experience understood the challenges of single mothers and Aboriginal women. Read More...
