Emergency First Aid with Level B CPR (Daycare Providers and Teachers)
 
 

Volunteer opportunities that may be available include:


1. Parent Child Centre

Volunteers assist professional staff to care for infants and toddlers while their moms attend school.  Staff and volunteers role model quality childcare as a way of teaching parenting skills to residents.  Commitment is once a week, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon or 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Requires Emergency First Aid with Level B CPR.

2. Crafts

Volunteers develop and lead an evening craft program for residents.  Program time is negotiable.  Emergency First Aid with Level B CPR is required. 

3. Crocheting/Knitting

Volunteer teaches crocheting and/or knitting on a one-to-one basis or with a small group after school or evenings.

4. Labour Companions

Volunteers with some experience and/or training provide support to young women during labour, delivery and with the birthing process.

5. Pottery/Ceramics

Volunteers provide beginner level instruction in pottery and ceramics and must be comfortable working with adolescents.

6. Yoga Instructor

Volunteer provides pre-natal and post-natal yoga instruction to residents on a regular basis.  Proof of Emergency First Aid with Level B CPR certification is required.
