On May 10, 2018 over 200 guests helped us celebrate 120 Years of Villa Rosa's Impact on Families at the Holiday Inn Winnipeg Airport Polo Park . Charlene Rocke, a founding member of the Endowment Fund Committee and current President of the Villa Rosa Corporation, was presented with the Mary Paletta Philanthropy Award. A Villa Rosa Endowment Fund scholarship recipient and former Villa Rosa resident engaged the audience with her inspiring journey from a happy childhood, to a low point during her family's struggles after a tragedy and her own involvement in an unhealthy relationship, which led to her pregnancy and decision to enlist Villa Rosa's help. She gave birth to a beautiful son, graduated from Grade 12 at Villa Rosa and continued her education in the Inner City Social Work Program with the assistance of a Villa Rosa Endowment Fund Scholarship. Manitoba musical artist, Sheena Grobb serenaded all in attendance with her beautiful voice and heartfelt, meaningful songs.
